It would seem that no matter where one travels or goes, through time or space or dimension, the only thing more common than the convergent evolution of Humans is the convergent evolution of Crabs. Life, consistently, forces this 5-fingered Sapient Vertebrate into existence. And like anything that is forced to do something, it rebels against its own existence.
Terrifyingly adaptable, ruthless dedication, destructively vain and impossibly curious - Humans prove themselves to be far more than "just some short-lived mortals". Once established, they are almost impossible to remove and will deplete all resources around them into some form of "civilization". How civilized they and their creations are is another discussion entirely.
Equally, they are known for incredible feats and Legacies. Once determined enough to set a path, they are rarely discouraged and keep striving for higher and higher goals. They have terraformed various landscapes deemed inhospitable into veritable paradises. Pushed science far past it's own comfort and into new technologies that others could not conceive. Expanded magic from far more than just exerting will but more into altering reality. They have managed to feed many more mouths than their own, taken expeditions with the sole intentions to help others thanklessly, and have volumes of Literature about how they love across all species.
Humans are as inevitable as life itself. Some say their beliefs in their own existence is what propagates them further and further, but how could such a scale be measured?
Offensivley known as Zoomans (or Zumans), these genetic chimeras have drastic variations. Some may have visible characteristics, some may be able to hide that they aren;t a full human, and some have no chance of pretending they are not what they are.
Roots travel deep, sometimes deeper than soil could ever allow. Rare plants known to locals as a "Mothertree" sometimes breach the Veil between, with tethers in both Soil And Ether. Some say the roots travel all the way to the center of the planet, but none know for certain.
Elyad are the birthed seedlings of each Mothertree. They are not naturally existing, and as such have no soul. By proxy, they are also Eternal. To truly kill an Elyad is quite difficult, for when they die their essence and form eventually return to whence they came - The Mothertree. And from there, they are born again, and again.
When first born, Elyad contain a potential known as a Heartseed. While it is not necessary for them to live, each Elyad only ever produces one. It is multiple things in the form of a gnarled wood mass; It's original connection, a seed, a tether, an opening. For all they are valuable to Elyad, to anyone else it is just a paperweight. But for each individual, the Heartseed would be something they regard a sacred item - Proof that they do exist, and have no roots to stop their path of growth.
Within each life cycle, Elyad may forget much of what it had ever known. Being born again by the same Mother allows them to quickly re-learn everything from childhood to maturity. But to remember all of who they have been and were, they must travel paths they have traveled before. In order to grow more, they must travel new paths.
For all their differences, Elyad are like any other creature. As the sun sets, they find themselves tiring. They have to to eat - mostly plant matter like vegetables, flowers, fruit - but are known to partake in "variety". Their bodies vary dramatically, and are often hosts to many other forms of life. Plants, Lichens, mosses, fungus, flowers, various woods - even bugs and critters. Elyad embrace Nature in all ways.
In a different place and time, these creatures had an incredibly advanced society. Their homeworld was technologically advanced, and life itself had reached a penultimate existence. Disease, Pestilence, War, Famine - all ancient relics. Goyles had managed to achieve a True Universal Desire - Eternal Life. They no longer aged nor became ill. A sequence of life-states has made them into a duality of existence - They are either As One or As Many.
As one, Goyles travel. They learn, the live, they love. They undertake pilgrimages, go on adventures, study profusely and imbibe all that they can. The memories, these are the purpose of (As One) - to explore and live and become "full". Once As One is Full, they begin to return to As Many.
As Many, they are not a solid form, but more of an amorphous consciousness. Tied to the Earth - the Soil, land, the roots. The Stones, magma, and plates - they travel again. Returning to the Sacred Homelands deep in the bowels of the planet, As Many exist together. They share and consume the memories As One brings them, and reproduce into a variation of what they once were. When this reproduction finishes, a Goyle is "reborn". Hungry and wanting, newborn Goyles return to the surface. From there, the cycle repeats endlessly, sustaining the past/present/future all as one entity in different states of "life".

Eglers are the tiny people. They are known by their clan names, rather than any individual name. Their lives are short, but they experience time very differently. Put simply, they experience time at 1/16th the rate of most other creatures. Their little humanoid forms are much faster than they would appear, but this is the time dilation in retrospect to reality. Each individual Eglers lifespan is about 4-8 years. The oldest to have have ever lived was just over 13 years before passing. Significant technological developments were made towards longevity just for them.
The Terraneers are the Automaton Constructs that are the home and host of that specific Egler Klan. Each Klan that has a Terraneer has managed to prove themselves to the greater society, and understands the risks and weights to exploring. Each Terraneer has its own, Custom, Ether-Drive. This unique technology is a closely-guarded secret of the Eglers, and not available for sale. In case of imminent clan desctruction (ICD), the last remaining Eglers must detonate the core of their Terraneer.
These creatures view life in a very different way. Each day is the equivalency of a month or more. Some may go their whole lives and have never seen the sunset, or by comparison, the sunrise. If having a conversation, the person you began talking to may not be the person you finish talking to. While the Eglers encourage individual growth and expansion, Tradition and life has pushed them towards a more Militant point-of-view. While they have to earn the rights, Each Clan has their own reasons for becoming a Terraneer and leaving the Hive.
These creatures originate from the Shadowplane. A relatively flat expansion, near-infinite in all directions. Regardless of where one looks, there is an Eternal twilight and glimpse of a sun - Just outside your vision. The land is hostile, Shadows upon Shadows moving about - attempting to consume one another or just survive a moment longer.
Rarely, but sometimes, one of them manages to break the veil and go somewhere else. Wether for better or worse, the risk is often worth it to any and all Shadelings who stumble upon an exit.
Shadelings have a semi-corporeal form. They can be damaged and killed, like anything else. They often wear various garbs of clothing, not quite understanding the ideas of Fashion. Color is a bizarre concept for them. Anything that they would hold or wear would be covered in shadows. When holding something, it almost appears to float - As if being held by the tip of its own shadow. Their movements are often erratic, difficult to predict. The only real give away is that their shadows are constantly moving, making their stealth suffer. That, and they have two glowing "eyes" that never seem to blink.
When it comes to food, they also indulge their shady nature. Everything casts a shadow, but some things are not overly meant to be eaten. Things that are edible, the Shadeling would absorb the shadow of the thing. It's own color and light would fade to nothingness, leaving a husk of framework to crumble away. Commonly, the more Edible the food is for most creatures the more edible it is for the Shadeling. Consuming a building, for instance, is not going to happen. An Apple? Sure. Chicken? Yes. But lets have it prepped first - Living things often do not like their shadows being consumed and often fight back.
Feysa live a charmed existence - when they have freedom. Some would coerce or enslave them for selfish reasons - and often pay much more than they had bargained for. These creatures are a manifestation of Will, created from a chaotic blend of (Ethers) and (Manas), and a strong desire to persist. Ether, being ambient and everywhere in low amounts. Mana, being concentrated and in particular places.
While there has been documented "Births" of Feysa, they are often conflicting in their reports. Some claim to see them step through the air as if they had always been there. Others claim from an Egg. Others again, born as a child. Often misconstrued, all these events are real.
The truth behind it all is a mass conglomeration of random events coalescing beyond probability. This Phenomena can happen anywhere that Existence is allowed to happen - Most often, the Dreamscape. There, Abstract and Actual are free to combine by desire alone.
It is from this desire that Sentience becomes Sapience, and Consciousness births itself. After this, it is up to the Feysa themselves to determine their own path - They are truly of Free Will, influencing and altering Destiny and Fate by simply choosing to do such a thing. The price for this wonderful existence, however, is a very short life. Feysa rarely live longer than a Decade - most only a few years. Just because their existence was made without a conception of death does not mean they are immortal. When and wherever they manifest, they mature and take form rapidly.

Devlin are the common name of this race. They are a short species with red/orange skin and bony, often dark, appendages that extrude outside their flesh. They have humanoid skulls and faces, but the similarities end there. The collarbone and sternum are external while the ribs and spine are internal. The back of this carapace has a long, segmented tail. The hips, elbows, and knees all follow this similar carapace, while there is still an internal skeleton with a muscly flesh connecting it all. Below each elbow and knee, the body again changes to a rough fur and sharp appendages. For the hands are 3-finger and thumb with sharp nails off the edges. For the feet, the roughened fur splits to reveal a boot-like hoof, with a large front hoof and smaller back hoof.
These creatures have lives that are often subjected to risk and injury. Considered short-lived, it is rare to see a Devlin with Grey in their furs. However, within their short lifespans they almost always breed. Until they have an offspring, they emit strong pheromones to attract mates. They can breed with almost anything that reproduces through sex, and the firstborn of every Devlin is always a Devlin. Any other offspring may or may not be a Devlin. They came into existence some time ago, as a pact between two gods that could not kill each other. Immortality through Mortality, absence of responsibility.
