The TTRPG designed with the Player Experience in mind, and a FREE version you can check out anytime you want.
The TTRPG Codename: 4d6 has been designed under some key principles:
- Keep it simple
- No character restrictions
- Smaller numbers
Why? Years of experience. Players want to play, now. They want to roll dice, and they don't want restrictions. They just want to be the Character they've designed, and We encourage that kind of thinking.
1: Skillsaves. There are 7 of them, and these are the primary "Stats" of the character. All Skillsaves are a d6+___, to be decided by the player. Things like Power or Will or Sneak or intimidate - whenever your character wants to try something, it falls into one of those 7 categories.
2: The d6 itself. While we have great love for all dice including the d20, keeping dice rolls to the d6 has allowed our system to stay mostly single-digits, and keep the math "Finger Friendly".
3: Action Points. Mostly combat related. Rather than having a Certain amount or Type of things/actions you can do on your turn, your character has Action Points. It is up to you how you use them, again putting the power of choice and control to the Player.
- There's no wasted Action Points! If your turn ends with ANY amount, your next turn begins with +1 extra. Players often use this tactically.
- Bonus Turns! Raise your Timing high enough and you can get a full extra turn!
- There are Races under design, a soon-to-be-released module (Phantom 309), groundwork is being laid for a small "Monster Manual" ,a beginners guide downloadable pdf under construction and much more future content, including a kickstarter!
- Did we mention it's FREE?
So its a new year, and We have slowed down like anyone else during the Holiday Season. A bit behind schedule, the first publication "Pocket full of Monsters" has been released! You can download it right now, or just view the PDF in the downloads section (Link just below, and in the header.
The Members Section of Character Building has had a Major increase in content. Freemium needs an update, but is still available and stable. Not sure what the next part of this project is - I want to get started on the kickstarter soon, but maybe I need to finish a few other things first (like a Players Guide PDF).
We have a basic PDF Character sheet soon to be available as well. A Hand-drawn image (just above) should also be available to save and print, if desired. The "Classic" Sheet will eventually be re-released to match all the changes done back in October.
We have been growing! Analytics is showing visitors coming in and browsing around. If you're coming back or checking us out for the first time, we would be glad if you joined the discord! Give your input directly to the creators, or just hang out and watch us grow :)
The major mechanics have been overhauled, cleaned and polished. Damage is categorized, and terms of "how effects work and how long" have been fully established. A few things were scrapped due to complexity - and a few improvements made to remove ambiguity. The Freemium Version is now available, as well as the beginning of Social Media - including Patreon. Links below.
Note: Some terminology may still be subject to change, but the mathematics of the system and the character creation aspects are complete and stable. More content is constantly added, but it may not always be in the Freemium version.
It's still there, but still being worked on. Some things posted were far-future concepts. For now, We are focusing on finishing up the re-write, making updated and improved character sheets, and finishing the "beginning" modules - Phantom 309, Super Anime Z, and Once Upon a Fish. Again, free for use. Demiverse is being expanded upon thoroughly, creating a richer sandbox experience. Lyric is being processed further, with a new and much better introduction. An additional module, Nagi's Island, is also being developed for near-future use.
Pretty PDFs. Borders have been drawn and one of us is working to understand Graphic Design more intricately. As we grow and develop, we are unhappy with the current "products". A strong dedication to quality is being put on the forefront, with Quantity taking a backseat.
Priority being put towards:
- Beginners Guide (How to play) downloadble pdf
- Phantom 309 module
- Proto-characters and Pre-mades (6 at current)
- Character Sheet Update (available up above is the hand-drawn freemium page, free for use)
- Updating Website to show off things (it's harder than we would like to admit)
- Hiring artist to finish Races art
November was basically a lost month. Between sickness and finances and Life obiligations, productivity plummeted. We are getting back on track, but progress is slow during the holiday season. As the social medias have been established, we will begin adding content on multiple platforms. Small at first, with just a few creatures and things - but soon much more. There is a strong motivation to make a kickstarter, and many of the tools and materials have been procured already. The kickstarter goal will be to publish a magazine with not just the content available on this website, but a myriad of entertaining and thought-provoking delights. Most of the magazine will be Exclusive, unpublished content. Stretch goals are being decided, just in case things go crazy. Again, all proceedings in finances are used directly on the hiring of real people to do real work - artists, coders, editors, designers - nothing in life is free. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated, even if its just sharing this content or playing the game.
Thank you for your interest so far. Stick around, or check out our Links! (content may be lacking while we figure it all out, but the accounts are there and we appreciate interacting with you!)
This is the tipjar section. anything coming through this way is spent on snacks and fun stuff.
